Just a few months after opening, Mall of Scandinavia has rapidly become an extremely popular destination. In January, the centre was the recipient of the ‘Stockholm’s Favourite Shopping Centre 2015’ award, despite the fact that it was barely open for a month in 2015.
“We’ve had a fantastic response from customers and we’ve experienced consistently high visitor numbers, far exceeding our high expectations,” says Louise Bergqvist, who is the new Shopping Centre Manager as of March.
The response from the stores has been excellent and the restaurants and cinema have also attracted a huge number of visitors. Activities are an important aspect of the customer experience at Mall of Scandinavia.
“We want to offer visitors a surprise – Unexpected Shopping. It might be a big or small activity, an exhibition or competition,” explains Louise.
Besides various kinds of events, Mall of Scandinavia is also introducing several new brands.
“We want to regularly present new features and offer new, exciting concepts for our visitors. Latest additions include Marimekko, which opened a pop-up shop in the Designer Gallery. It’s definitely worth a visit,” says Louise.
There is a strong focus on the culinary experience at Mall of Scandinavia and at the heart of the Dining Plaza you will find the Dining Theatre. The area hosts various kinds of food-based activities. Note Design Studio, the designers behind the Dining Theatre, was also recently named ‘Designer of the Year’ as part of magazine Residence’s ‘Stora Formpris’.
“At the Dining Theatre we have chefs coming in to offer tastings, and DJs who create a relaxing atmosphere at the end of the working day. As it gets warmer we’re also looking forward to opening up our outdoor cafés,” says Louise.
For those working in the vicinity of Mall of Scandinavia there is a wide variety of lunch places, in fact the area boasts Stockholm’s largest collection of restaurants. Besides the range of shops there are also many types of services available, including parcel delivery services.
