Welcome to Arenastaden in Solna
Arenastaden (The Arena City) will be the Nordic region’s foremost destination for events, shopping, business, living and recreation. A brand new and unique part of the city featuring Sweden’s new national arena for football, Scandinavia’s biggest shopping center, Stockholm’s tallest hotel, nearly 10,0000 work places and 2,000 residences will be located in Solna. The Arena, the hotel and most of the infrastructure will be completed during 2012.
A lively part of town
The proposed location of Arenastaden is today an industrial area that within a few years will be transformed into a living, breathing city district with shops, offices, housing, entertainment and hotels. The hub will be the Swedbank Arena and a 120,000 square meter shopping center situated on three floors that, along with the hotel, encircles Arenatorget (Arena Square).
The uniqueness of Arenastaden lies in the wide array of modern commercial and entertainment facilities combined with a feeling of totality that will make it an attractive location for those craving a contemporary lifestyle. These feelings are created through a blend of architecture, infrastructure, landscaping, shops, parks, restaurants and the people who live and work there.
Swedbank Arena
Swedbank Arena will be home to the Swedish national men's football team as well as world class performers and the venue will support other major events all year round. When the arena is finished in 2012, the neighboring cities of Solna and Stockholm will proudly take their place as the home of Scandinavia’s largest and most modern multi-function complex.
The largest and most exciting events
Swedbank Arena will be able to host the largest events in the region. International cup and local matches in football, Speedway, winter sports, major concerts, and much more. For top artists on tour in Scandinavia, Swedbank Arena will be the venue of choice. It will be the perfect place for unforgettable shows in front of large audiences. The arena will be widely known for its flexibility. The floor space will be able to accommodate grass, ice and gravel. The roof will be retractable, which will allow use all year round for any type of event. For sporting events, the arena will hold 50,000 spectators. If the inner field area is used, the arena’s capacity will be 65,000 spectators.
The Nordic region’s largest shopping mall
With a surface area of 120,000 sqm. and garage parking for 4,000 vehicles, Arenastaden’s shopping mall will be the largest in the Nordic region. Stockholmers and tourists alike will flock here for world class shopping and unparalleled entertainment experiences.
Arenastaden’s shopping mall will be an excellent alternative to Stockholm’s downtown shopping area thanks to its architecture, flagship boutiques, restaurants and other exciting activities. Along with all the core values the Nordic region is known for in the north, Arenastaden’s shopping mall will further strengthen Stockholm’s position as Scandinavia’s capital city and tourist destination of choice.
Hotel
To further reinforce Arenastaden’s position as a top Nordic destination, Home Properties will construct a spectacular hotel.
The hotel will be integrated with the Swedbank Arena and will feature 400 double rooms and a banquet room serving 2,000 guests. Add a sky bar 90 meters above with a glorious view of Stockholm, a spa and relaxation area, a la carte restaurant and you have a hotel built to provide an extraordinary experience.
The hotel construction should be completed at the same time as Swedbank Arena in 2012.
Offices
Property investment company, Fabege, will build approximately 120,000 sqm. of new, modern, energy efficient office space, but it is already possible to rent modern space in the area. Fabege is the owner of the majority of the commercial property around Arenastaden and has a wide selection of offices in all size and floor plan categories.
